NC-17 (Peter Aldanmaz) is a Toronto, Canada-based drum and bass producer and label owner of Grindhouse Audio. Known for his dark, cinematic approach to the genre, NC-17 comes from a cinema background and fuses his passion for film with drum and bass to create a unique sound. His main inspirations come from film composers such as Goblin, Simon Boswell, Ennio Morricone, Fabio Frizzi and John Carpenter, as well as filmmakers including Martin Scorsese, Stanley Kubrick, Dario Argento and Abel Ferrara. With releases on Viper Recordings, Renegade Hardware, Mainframe, All Sorts, DSCI4, MAC II, SOM Music, Proximity, and many more, NC-17 formed his own label, Grindhouse Audio in 2012. He has become a regular fixture on respected labels including Dispatch, Metalheadz and Ram Recordings, with the name NC-17 becoming synonymous with Viper Recordings over recent years. His "Most Violent Year Album Part 3" represents some of this talented producer's best work to date, completing his epic trilogy of full-length albums. Grindhouse Audio has featured tracks from State Of Mind, The Upbeats, Mr Explicit, and Smooth, establishing NC-17 as both a prolific artist and successful label curator in the drum and bass scene.
