Need For Mirrors, real name Joe Moses, is a UK-based drum and bass producer and DJ originally from New Zealand who relocated to the UK in 2003. He established his Need For Mirrors project in 2010 and founded his own label Zoltar a year later, creating a platform to promote his passion for vinyl releases and high-quality artwork. Together with Bailey, he co-founded the legendary London drum and bass night Soul In Motion, which has become a fixture in the UK scene. His sound spans the drum and bass spectrum, challenging conventional boundaries and formulas.
Need For Mirrors has released music across numerous prestigious labels including Metalheadz, Spearhead, Playaz, and Dispatch. His association with V Recordings spans over 12 years, beginning with his breakout track "Greazy" in 2012, with releases across all four V imprints including Liquid V, Chronic and Philly Blunt. In 2020, he released his album Flames on 31 Recordings, featuring tracks like "Without U," "Slewisham," and "Flow Forward" that showcase his experimental approach alongside club-ready productions. He has also released on labels such as Commercial Suicide, Souped Up, Hospital Records, and Full Cycle, demonstrating his versatility across the genre's full stylistic range and cementing his reputation as one of drum and bass's most consistently innovative artists.
