Sabre was a Canadian heavy metal trio formed in London, Ontario in the mid-1980s. Featuring Stephen Malcolm Fife (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Leighton βRalphβ Dame (bass, synth, backing vocals), and Steve Sims (drums, percussion, vocals), the band blended classic hard-rock energy with melodic NWOBHM-influenced metal.
In 1985 Sabre released their lone album, On the Prowl, on Blade Records. Though it received limited exposure at the time, the record later earned cult status among collectors and metal fans for its strong musicianship, soaring vocals, and tight power-trio chemistry.
Despite their short lifespan, Sabre remains remembered as an underrated Canadian metal act whose only album has become a sought-after gem of the era.
